Lake Nona was designed around a lot of things. A car dealership was not one of them. Medical City, Laureate Park, Eagle Creek and the Town Center were all planned as places to live and work, which means that when it is time to buy or lease a vehicle, every resident leaves the community.

Most people head north or west and end up paying a toll to get there. Starling Chevrolet sits at the other end of Narcoossee Road, straight south in St. Cloud. Same road, no toll plaza, roughly 25 to 30 minutes from Medical City.

Lake Nona is hemmed in by toll roads. The 417 runs along its western edge and the 528 sits just north of it, and almost every dealership option in the Orlando metro sits on the far side of one of them. You can get there, but you are paying to do it, and you are arriving in the middle of airport traffic.

Narcoossee Road goes the other way. It runs south out of Lake Nona, past the Narcoossee community, across the county line into St. Cloud, and ends at US-192 a short distance from our lot. One road, no tolls, and the traffic thins out the moment you clear Boggy Creek. It is the direction most Lake Nona residents never think to look, which is exactly why the drive is easier than they expect.

That is not a coincidence. Lake Nona was built recently enough that most homes have a garage with modern electrical service, the community has invested in charging infrastructure, and a large share of residents commute a predictable distance to Medical City, the airport or downtown. Those three conditions together are close to the ideal case for an EV, and they are rarer than people assume.

The part that matters is home charging. If you can plug in overnight in your own garage, the public charging question mostly disappears and the math changes completely. If you cannot, the honest answer is that a hybrid or an efficient gas model may serve you better, and we will tell you that rather than sell you the wrong vehicle.

Chevrolet Equinox EV and Blazer EV

The two that make the most sense for a Lake Nona commute. The Equinox EV is the practical entry point and covers a Medical City round trip several times over on a single charge. The Blazer EV sits above it with more room and more performance. Both are worth driving back to back before you decide, and we can set that up in one visit.

Chevrolet Silverado EV

An unusual amount of interest in this one comes from Lake Nona, and it splits into two groups: people who want a truck without the fuel bill, and businesses that want the electric version on the road for reasons that are partly practical and partly about how the company presents itself. Both are legitimate. Ask us what is allocated and when.

Laureate Park and Eagle Creek are full of young families, and the Traverse is the vehicle that shows up when the second child arrives and the crossover stops being enough. Three rows, real cargo space behind them, and it still fits a standard garage.

Allocation moves, configurations vary, and a conversation about what is coming is usually more useful than whatever happens to be on the lot the day you visit.

Getting Here from Lake Nona

We are at 1001 E Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway in St. Cloud, near the southern end of the Narcoossee corridor.

From Medical City, the Town Center and Laureate Park

Lake Nona Boulevard or Tavistock Lakes Boulevard out to Narcoossee Road, then south. Stay on Narcoossee all the way into St. Cloud and it delivers you to US-192. No tolls at any point.

From Eagle Creek and the southern neighborhoods

You are already on the right side of the community. Narcoossee Road south, and you will be here in a little over 20 minutes most of the day.

From the Narcoossee community itself

You are roughly halfway already. Continue south on Narcoossee Road into St. Cloud. For a lot of Narcoossee residents we are the closest Chevrolet dealership in any direction.
